Born in Batang on March, 2nd 1952

The history of education began in 1966 in Jombang Tebuireng boarding school, then in 1976 graduated at the baccalaureate level Ash'ari Hashim University Faculty of Sharia, and scholar at the Islamic University of Imam Muhammad ibn Saud, Riyadh Faculty of Sharia. In 1985 obtained a Master Tafsir Hadith glass at King Saud University, Riyadh, and in 2008 he obtained his Doctorate at the University Nizamia Hyderabad, India.

He is also known as an expert in the science of Hadith, and Islamic schools as well as caregivers Luhur Darus Sunnah Hadith Sciences, Professor of Institute of Qur'an Hadith (IIQ) and the High Priest Istiqlal Mosque in Jakarta. In addition, to this day he served as vice chairman of the Central MUI Fatwa Commission, the executive vice chairman of the daily bdan MUI National Sharia Council.
