Indonesian Citizen, aged 63, domiciled in Jakarta. He obtained his Bachelor degree in Economics from the YKPN College of Economics in Yogyakarta in 1986 and a Master's degree from the College of Business and Public Affairs of Murray State University in 1994. He then continued his tertiary education at Curtin University of Technology and obtained his doctorate degree in 2007.

He began his career in 1982 as an assistant auditor at Hadori & Co. Public Accountant Firm. He then became a lecturer and Head of the Management and Accounting Research Institute at the YKPN Accounting Academy from 1985 to 2009; a lecturer at Yogyakarta University of Technology in 2009 until now; and a member of the Audit Committee at BNI Sekuritas in 2012 to 2014. He started his career in banking by serving as a member of the Audit Committee at Bank Windu Kentjana Internasional from 2009 to 2012.

Based on the decision of General Meeting of Shareholders of Bank Sinarmas on June 13, 2014, Rusmin was appointed as an Independent Commissioner. This decision was then approved by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) on June 19, 2014.

It is also noteworthy that Rusmin does not have any family or financial relationship with other members of the Board of Commissioners, members of the Board of Directors, and Controlling Shareholders.
