Bali, 15 September 2023, Initiation of a community empowerment-based partnership program between PT. Bank Sinarmas Tbk., PT. Songsong Buwono Lestari, and Yayasan Harapan Lingkungan Hidup aim to change the mindset of farmers to stop dumping livestock waste into waterways and process it into products that have economic value with a positive impact on the environment. This entire series of activities is a real implementation of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), both directly and indirectly, in realizing healthy food independence based on local wisdom.
Taro Village, which is located in Tegallalang District, Gianyar Regency, Bali, is a village that has various potentials, including having a Taro White Cattle conservation area (the only one in Bali), a Breeders and Farmers Group and PKK with MSME products, including a Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) with its tourism products is one of the sustainable tourism villages in Indonesia chosen by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy with an icon as an eco-spiritual destination.
In order to support the Government's Financial Inclusion Program, where September is Tourism and Livestock Month, PT. Bank Sinarmas Tbk. held a Financial Inclusion event in Taro Village. This month, Bank Sinarmas carried out various banking literacy and outreach activities regarding smart behavior and QRIS (Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard) services as a payment method in the digital era. It is hoped that this socialization will increase the knowledge of the community in Taro Village, Tegallalang District, Gianyar Regency, Bali, especially in the financial sector.
Currently there are 2 schools in Taro Village, Bali that have collaborated with Bank Sinarmas in opening Student Savings accounts (SIMPEL). This is done as a concrete form of financial literacy education for children from kindergarten to high school to encourage a culture of saving from an early age.
Frenky Tirtowijoyo, President Director of Bank Sinarmas said, "We are carrying out financial literacy by activating the Student Savings Program for Elementary Schools in Taro Village as well as community literacy regarding a more practical payment system or what we know today as QRIS, how to make transactions safer and more comfortable. "We hope that the program we are running in Taro Village can help the community develop their beloved Taro Village into a favorite village and destination village for domestic and foreign tourists, so that it can become a source of economic income for the residents of Taro Village."

Next, together with the White Cattle community and the Taro village community, we will develop and expand our synergy program towards environmental preservation and tourist." Frenky added.
Mr. Wayan Warka Taro Village Head also said "We, the Taro village government, would like to thank Bank Sinarmas for being here to accompany Taro village, collaborating and contributing in keeping the Taro village environment clean and comfortable, where we are able to manage White Cattle manure waste into Bio Taro products which have economic value and very beneficial for the community, both farmers, breeders and also tourism in accordance with the sustainable development program (SDGs), which is in accordance with the program developed by Taro village, processing waste from sources, developing MSMEs, sustainable tourism villages, village food security."
Taro Village also previously received the Kalpataru Cup in the field of environmental preservation from the Indonesian Government, was the best in the Tourism Village competition organized by the Ministry of Village, received Sustainable Tourism Village Certification from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Innovated Village from Brin, was used as a launch for source-based waste management in accordance with Governor Regulation 47, 1st place in the Nature Category Tourism Village Competition and several achievements of Taro Village which are quite encouraging. It is hoped that the support of collaboration with Bank Sinarmas through several innovations can further improve the economy of the Taro Village community and reduce the poverty rate in Taro Village.
